Multi-Purpose Vehicle. MPVs are sometimes called people carriers, too, which is perhaps a more accurate name. MPV have five to nine seats.
Executive car is equivalent to the European E-segment and American full-size classifications. Executive cars are larger than compact executive cars and smaller than luxury saloons/full-size luxury sedans.
Estates are very similar to hatchback cars, but feature an extended rear end which provides additional boot space. This makes estate cars great for loading and transporting bulky equipment.
Saloon cars generally look different to hatchbacks or estate cars, with a more pronounced ‘three-box’ shape, with separate ‘boxes’ for the engine at the front, the passenger compartment in the middle and the boot at the back.
